Hi, I'm Richard. I make stuff.
Sometimes on the computer and with the help of photographers, writers, printers and fabricators. Other times with my own two hands.
For the last sixteen years I've been making my stuff alongside some truly amazing and talented people at disturbance, the company my sister and I founded in Durban, South Africa. In August 2013 my wife, two daughters and I moved to New York city. Though I still have ties with disturbance, I am excited about finding a creative voice in the greatest city in the world.
Oh, and here's a short explanation of how this site wound up with the name it did – Trace (my wife) thinks I bleed for my work. She thinks that I look for the hardest possible way to do something. I like to think I do it the right way. And the right way isn't always the easiest way. But that's how I like it.
And if I bleed, it's happy blood.
